About Hannah

Hannah Rittmueller is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer who received her BFA in Dance with Honors from Wayne State University in May 2020. She has performed at the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Elaine Jacobs Gallery, Sidewalk Festival Detroit, Oakland Dance Festival, and the Berman Center. Hannah’s choreography has been shown at the Bonstelle Theatre, Allesee Dance Theatre, Andy Art Center, and other alternative spaces. She enjoys collaborative, interdisciplinary work, and hopes to continue finding opportunities to perform, choreograph, collaborate, and expand her practice moving forward.

CRADLE (2022) is a time capsule, or rather, it is the map, shovel, and key with which the witness can unearth their own buried artifacts. Informed by the cast’s personal histories, CRADLE ventures into topics of nostalgia, aging, playfulness, loneliness, and tenderness. The work’s intimacy and familiarity invite the audience to become absorbed in the experience, blurring the lines between the watcher and watched.

Above all, CRADLE creates a shared space of warped time, perfect for remembering and nurturing all versions of the self - even the versions yet to come.
